what Marty has been up to
I think this year has been our best potato year... look at these beauties!
I'm so proud of my husband who I teasingly nickname "Marty Stewart"... he's amazing. This week he also juiced and canned crab apple juice concentrate, and he cooked, chopped, and canned like a million pounds of chicken for our family. Hooray for me, no more cooking chicken. Just open the can and pop it into whatever dish I'm making. And we're saving a bunch of money too... This makes like so much easier for this mama.
After I took this photo, he and the kids harvested all the rest of the carrots, they were big and amazing this year too. I appreciate the garden so much more now, than when he started it 6 or so years ago. He gets better every year.

goin' green in the basement
Jeremy is in full swing gardening mode. He began planting downstairs in March, one month earlier than last year so maybe we'll have red tomatoes this year! We have garlic, onions, herbs, tomatoes, broccoli, brussel sprouts, different squashes, cabbage, peppers, cucumbers, and more growing downstairs! A few of the plants like lettuces, spinach, carrots, and potatoes he'll plant directly in the ground in about a month or so.

veggie mania
Our corn and green pepper experiments...
I took this pic at 5:30 am this morning because I happened to wake up and the sun was reddish/fuchsia and it was truly an amazing sight.. the picture didn't capture any of it! But I thought it was a good view of the garden as well.
The back row is broccoli, cabbage, swiss chard, and carrots. To the far right, there is also a full bed of carrots you can't see.)

bountiful harvest
My super-gardener husband grows an incredible garden, if I do say so myself! I can't take any credit, I just pick it, cook with it, and eat it. I have grown to appreciate it SO much.
